R*n 287 - The Calm Before The Storm

14th June 2026
Today we had a wonderful hash around the leafier parts of Greenfield, starting from The Railway with, or so we thought, one beer stop at The Commercial. We also had two guests, Piss Puppet brought her friend Just Wendy for a walk, although had to leave early but it was nice to see them both, and we also had Chemically Castrated who came along whilst on holiday from Vietnam.

The hares for the day were Buggered in the woods and Chocolate Starfish, who clearly considered this hash to be their own personal pub crawl. Whilst they did indeed lay the trails, they were conspicuous by their absence on said trails - but by some "miracle" managed to find their way to the pub stops. Their reticence to hash was discovered by chance once the photos were in, as we now have evidence of a cheeky pub stop without the rest of us. Shocking behaviour!

Obviously such a situation was picked up by the pack, and dealt with in true hashing fashion at the on-inn with a very well deserved down down - where BITW had the temerity to "refuse" the offered down-down, claiming "I don't like lager or beer". Naturally this situation had to be dealt with, insubordination like this cannot and will not be permitted.

As if their absence on trail wasn't enough, the trail itself consisted of several odd marks that (a) are not Manchester markings and (b) were not explained during the chalk talk. Claims of "we do that in Mijas" fell on deaf ears, this is Manchester after all, we do things differently here. Also, with no hares on trail we could only guess what "FT" meant, let alone "VP". Foot Traffic? Feeding Time? Felt Tired? Oh no dear hashers, instead of the most common and well known cross to tell us this wasn't the right way, we were treated to "FT" - as in "False Trail".

"VP" showed up on both the r*nners and the walkers trails, again leaving us stumped for suggestions. As the hairs had obviously imbibed some Immac and disappeared, we were left to our own devices to try to work out what this meant. Very Picturesque? Visible Panties? Voluptuous People? Variegated Poppies? At no time did we see the hares viewpoint on this.

By sheer miracle or act of god, all of the pack managed to return to the Railway, followed some time later by our elusive hares. Punishments were handed out and, in most cases, warmly accepted, and we went on our way.

Attendees were Beano, Beer Sniffer, Chemically Castrated, Comes Prepared, Cwoardelia Snatch, Just Mandy, Piss Puppet & Sploosh. Also there, allegedly, were Buggered in the woods and Chocolate Starfish.
